April 2021 PS Plus Games

The latest PS Plus games have now been announced for April, here we dive into the 3 games that Sony have offered up for its PS Plus subscribers:

Oddworld: Soulstorm:

A sequel to 2014’s Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty, our unlikely hero Abe, once again returns to save the Mudokons from slavery but must be careful rescuing them from the evil Glukkons who will not let them go without a fight.

Battle through all new linear levels, only this time Abe has some new tricks up his sleeves, if he had sleeves, but you get what I mean, as he can now craft items and weapons to help free his people, and he will soon realize he will need all the help he can get to solve the puzzles that lie before him, in this all-new action adventure from Publisher/Developer Oddworld Inhabitants.

Oddworld: Soulstorm is only available for PlayStation 5 owners on PS Plus this month, PlayStation 4 users will need to purchase this title if they wish to play.

Days Gone:

Take control of Days Gone protagonist Deacon St. John, a drifter, just trying to survive in this post-apocalyptic world, filled with creatures known as Freakers, as well as different factions of Humans fighting for their place in this world, as you uncover information that your wife Sarah might still be alive out there, you embark on a mission to find your wife no matter the cost, with your trusty bike and best friend Boozer as you fight your way through Oregon with the threats that lie before you.

Explore this rich open world, with enemies at every turn, upgrade your bike to stay ahead in the world, using the crafting system to improve your weapons, uncover what happened to your wife and the dark secrets of how this world came to be.

Zombie Army: Dead War 4:

Set in the 1940s, this is a 1 - 4 player campaign, where you fight the undead of Hitler’s Nazi army and continue the story of this alternate reality that has been set from the Zombie Army Trilogy, fight your way through new levels, deal with all new enemy types as the hordes just keep on coming.

Looking at the games above, my pick of the bunch must be Oddworld: Soulstorm, this is because I am such a fan of the New ‘N’ Tasty game from 2014 and I feel this sequel looks true to form with the right kind of quality-of-life improvements, I am expecting a great game here. I would also recommend Days Gone as I did get the platinum when it came out in 2019 and is an extremely solid game that deserves more love than it got.

I will say I am surprised Sony has only given us two PS4 games and one PS5, I know that two of these games are big hitters for sure and they just released more Play at Home games, well I guess I am getting greedy.

All these games are available now to add to your ever-growing library of games, even if you feel these games are not for you, it is always worthwhile adding them to your collection as they are free with the subscription and one day you never know, you may want to try them out.
