Larian Studios have kept the release date quiet until now, originally stated to be launching sometime in August (yeah, we're almost at the end) they have finally released a statement confirming the release date which is now 30th September 2020. Now, here comes the downside, it will be launching in Alpha state. Divinity 2 launched the same way and after a year it fully released, Baldurs gate won't be falling short with content and won't feel like a poor quality Alpha which we are used to seeing with other game, let's look why.
Baldurs Gate 3 will be launching with a large range of races and classes to choose from, as listed below:
Humans
Elves
Half-Elf
Halflings
Dwarf
Tieflings
Drow (Dark-elves)
Half-Drow
Githyanki
Vampire Spawn
Fighter - Battle Master, Eldritch Knight
Wizard - Evocation, Abjuration
Rogue - Arcane Trickster, Thief
Ranger - Hunter, Beast Master
Cleric - Life, Light, Trickery
Warlock - Fiend, Great One

Don't worry if you don't see your favourite D&D race or class there, Larian Studios said they will be adding more over the course of the Alpha and that the Alpha will last a similar time to Divinity 2's, so with all hopes we will have a full finished and polished game by September/October 2021.

We cannot wait to get our hands on it, but as with other titles, we will be waiting for reviews to hit to see if there are any game breaking issues which could lead us to avoid the title until it receives a patch. Expecting the game to work smoothly without issue though and ready for the late night/early morning playthroughs.
