DIRT 5, Delayed AGAIN!

It hasn't even been 2 weeks since DIRT 5's reveal at Gamescom 2020 and developer/publisher Codemasters has announced yet another delay in the release of the title - now November 6.

The announcement comes as another inconvenient shock to ardently-awaiting DIRT fans after the game was delayed previously from a release date of October 9 to October 16. Now, dirty drivers must wait another month on top of the original date...but it's for good reason and fans should not be disheartened by the decision.

The early build of the game, whilst showcasing that the general gameplay, environment and feel are all but too satisfying, accentuated a few, if not many, tweaks that are needed to hone the mechanics and interfaces. And what better way for Codemasters to make damned sure these are ironed out than to give themselves a month breathing space from the original release date - current release date November 6.

Frank Sagnier, CEO of Codemasters issued this statement:

“DIRT 5 has received widespread critical acclaim, culminating with it receiving the Gamescom 2020 Best Racing Game Award. The revised launch date will allow us to take advantage of the next-generation console launches, which are expected in time for the holiday season.”

After prestigous success cultivated by their preceding release of F1 2020, you can't blame Codemasters for wanting to ensure the utmost quality of gameplay and experience with this title, and also to ensure their reputation in the racing genre is upheld.

DIRT 5 has had its initial reveal and an unveiling of the features in the game along with a short preview of the 'Playgrounds' mode where players can create their own arena track and share with other users and friends.

Now set to be released on November 6, DIRT 5 will be heading to PC, Xbox One and PS4. Later this year we will see the title come to next-gen consoles with release of a Google Stadia edition sometime in 2021.
