CAPCOM Casually Slide Into Our DM's With Resident Evil Animated Series Teaser

CAPCOM has confirmed, during their Tokyo Game Show 2020 stream at the weekend, that Resident Evil will be getting an animated series on media streaming giant Netflix called Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, with the release of a short teaser trailer. (now displayed on Netflix - it's a sure thing!).

This is not to be mistaken with the previously confirmed 'live-action' series which was officially announced in Aug 2020. Nope. It would appear CAPCOM and Netflix have been devilishly secretive with this juicy project, which is also underway and earmarked for a 2021 release.

Not much has been announced about the animated series but the teaser pretty much nails down that protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield will be the focus of the episodic story. We are assuming that CAPCOM will push for the release of the series to coincide with its next entry into their R.E game franchise Resident Evil Village to be released on next-gen consoles and PC next year.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a shame that this isn't ready for release at the end of this month! But we have high hopes for the cinematic experience we will receive in 2021.

Troy, out.
