The remastered versions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 are finally here, and ushers in a tidal wave of nostalgia from when we were kids, blasting out combo's in the Air Hangar.
The re-rendered games are a breath of fresh California air from Activision and brings with it a totally rad package of additional improvements and extras to the main graphical enhancement.
So what's new?
Aside from the additional pixels and graphical upgrade, the games offer a plethora of new features including an entirely new roster of skaters for you to take control of as you roll around the skate park. That's not to say you can't relive past memories playing the skaters you know and love, you can and with renewed vigour!
The games boast classic skate levels such as Warehouse, Downhill Jam, School II and the Bullring so pull up your socks and get ready to manual down the same evocative slopes and half-pipes as you did back then. Or create your own park with an upgraded studio for levels and skater customization that you can then share online with your acquaintances.
Soundtracks old and new will accompany you with that same nostalgic vibe from the era, which you can also listen to now, here.
The entire duo of games has been completely rebuilt from the ground up and it's more than safe to say that it looks as if Vicarious Visions have not failed us with this endeavour.
Vicarious issued this statement to the public about additional features not yet come to pass:
“Later this fall, look out for an update that will include additional, more private and personal party features, including private skate sessions, party migration, and leader promotion,”
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 & 2 remakes are available on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC - don't wait to be transported back in time to your childhood but in high-res!
